A German team has won the 2011 World Carp Classic held at Lac de Madine in September. The winning total weight was 832lb (377,6 kg) and a record number of 20kg+ carp were captured this year.
Just recently a new French record common carp was caught at French fishery Etang La Saussaie . The 88lb specimen was captured by Korda's Damian Clarke, and came just a little short to break the current world record common carp.
A new record common carp has been caught at French public water Lac de Saint-Cassien in southern France near the Côte d'Azur. British angler Paul Roberts caught the biggest ever Cassien common carp at 68lb.
