New Mar-Peche carp record at 78lb

On October 1st British angler Bill Phillips set a new carp lake record for Mar-Peche near Paris with a 78 lb 15oz mirror carp.

The 62-year-old retired production manager from Wiltshire broke his personal record by more than 23lb with the record breaking French carp.

Mar-Peche is known for it's big carp, with a total of about 150 carp weighing between 14 kg and 32 kg.

The biggest carp of course is the recently captured lake record with a weight of 78lb 15oz (almost 36 kg).

The fishery located near the French town of Montereau is run by British couple Kevin and Anita Maddocks. Check out more about the venue right here.
